Bachelor of Science in Anesthesia Technology ( BSc Anesthesia Technology )

[one_half][ads1][/one_half]Bachelor of Science in Anesthesia Technicians perform logistical and technical support Anesthesiologist, Nurse Anesthetists and Physician extender Anesthetists – Anesthesiologist Assistant ( A A – C s ). They maintain anesthesiology supplies and equipment, set-up anesthetizing locations and operate, monitor, and collect data from anesthesia related equipment. In some cases Anesthesia Technicians will perform clinical laboratory functions, equipment preventive maintenance/repair, and special procedures such as cardiac output measurement, intra aortic balloon pumping, vessel cannulation, and auto transfusion services.

Anesthesia Technology Eligibility

Should have passed Senior Secondary ( 12th Standard / Intermediate ) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination recognized by R G U H S as equivalent.

Lateral Entry

Candidates who have secured a diploma in Anesthesia Technology from a board recognized by the Government or any other equivalent authority can gain entry to second year of the course.

Academic Year Commencement

August – September.

Course Duration

3 yrs & 6 months.

Scope

Bachelor of Science in Anesthetic technician are mainly employed by anesthesia departments or operating theater suites, but can be found in other areas of clinical practice including emergency departments, intensive care units (I C U) and day surgery clinics. As long as there is a need for surgery and relief from pain, there will continue to be a need for qualified anesthesiologist assistants and anesthesia technicians. Because of anesthesiologist assistants unique qualification and medical assistant expertise, the demand for these anesthesia professionals will increase dramatically over the years to come.
