Career Definitions – CARPENTRY
CARPENTRY (CER)
Carpenters cut and shape materials such as wood, plastic, ceiling textile,fiber-glass and drill with hand power tools. Carpenters then join the material with nails screws, staples,or glue. They check the accuracy of their work with levels, ruler, plumb bobs and framing squares.
CABINET & FURNITURE MAKING (CER)
Cabinet makers construct articles of furniture, using blue prints or drawings as guides , carpenter cuts out, trims and fits together wooden articles or parts of articles, using wood working machines and hand tools.
CANE WORK (CER)
Strips of cane interwoven and used to make furniture.
CANE WORK & BAMBOO WORK (CER)
Strips of cane and bamboo interwoven and used to make furniture.
CARPENTER (CER)
Carpenters cut and shape materials, such as wood, plastic, ceiling tile, fiberglass, with hand and power tools, They check the accuracy of their work with levels, rules, plumb bobs and framing squares. Carpenters may work in teams or be assisted by a helper. One whose occupation is construction, finishing and repairing wooden objects and structures.
SPORTS GOODS MAKER – WOOD (CER)
Sports goods makers are involved in all stages of manufacturing, assembling, and finishing sporting goods equipment such as golf clubs, fishing tackle, Table tennis, Cricket bats, Rackets, Bats, skies, baseball equipment etc.
CABINET & FURNITURE MAKING (CER)
Cabinet makers perform a complete cycle of cutting, shaping, surface preparation and assembling prepared parts of complex wood components into a finished wood product such as piece of furniture.
CANE WORK (CER)
Strips of cane interwoven and used to form the backs and seats of chairs and other articles of furniture.
CANE WORK & BAMBOO WORK (CER)
Strips of cane interwoven and used to form the backs and seats of chairs and other articles of furniture.Bamboos are cut and interwoven into partitions and used to make various articles.
