APPLIED BIO MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY (PG)

Paramedical Bio-medical technicians build, maintain and repair various types of electronic equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment for diseases.

AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH THERAPY (DEG / PG)

Paramedical Speech language psychologists identify, assess, and treat persons with the speech and language disorders, and audiologists assess and treat hearing impaired individuals.Speech language speech, language and swallowing disorders resulting from conditions such as total or partial hearing loss.Because both audiology and speech therapy occupations are concerned with communication, individuals competent with one area must be familiar with the other.

BLOOD TRANSFUSION (DIP)

The process of transferring of blood or  a cell suspension from one person or animal into veins of another person or animal.

COMMUNITY MEDICINE (DIP)

The branch of medicine that deals with matters of health and diseases as they effect community as a whole.

E.N.T (DIP / PGDIP / PG)

E.N.T is the science which deals with the study of ear, nose and throat.

HEALTH EDUCATION (DEG)

It imparts education about health and how to maintain it, whom to contact for certain disorders, and also prevention and treatment of diseases.

HEALTH STATISTICS (DIP)

Statistics pertaining to health which also includes statistics of sick people.

LEPROSY (DIP)

A chronic, infectious, granulomatous disease occuring almost exclusively in tropical and sub-tropical regions, caused by a bacillus.

MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN (DIP / PGDIP / DEG)

Medical lab technicians perform routine tests in medical laboratories in order to assist physicians, surgeons, pathologists and other professional medical personnel in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.They prepare samples of patient tissues, conduct laboratory tests such as urine and blood analysis and make quantitative and qualitative chemical and biological analysis of samples of cells tissues or other body specimens.They usually work under the supervision of a medical technologist or a laboratory director.Medical laboratory technicians may work in many fields as they may specalize in one area of medical laboratory work such as cytology, hematology, serology or histology.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY RADIO – THERAPY (PG)

Treatment by radium, radon seeds, sunlight or any radioactive substances or radiant energy.

MENTAL RETARDATION (DIP)

Studies relating to people who have mental deficiencies.

NATUROPATHY (DEG)

A system of therapeutics in which neither surgical nor medicinal agents are used, but treatment is given by use of natural methods such as using herbs, sunlight, water treatment, mud baths etc (non – medicinal process).

NURSING (DIP / DEG / PG / Ph.D)

Paramedical Tending and taking care of a child, caring for the mentally or physically ill or infirm, in general performing duties of a nurse.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (DEG)

Occupational therapists help mentally, physically, emotionally disabled individuals.They help patients improve their basic functions and reasoning abilities.Occupational therapists also help permanently disabled patients to cope up with the physical or emotional effects of being disabled.

OPERATING THEATRE ASSISTANTSHIP (CER)

Assistant who helps the surgeon for maintaining the operation theatre and equipping it with all tools and other paraphernalia needed for the operation.

OPTHALMIC ASSISTANTS (DIP)

Opthalmic assistant is the one who assists opticians, optometrists or opthalmologists in making prescription for eye glasses and contact lenses.In general they grind, polish, measure, surface, finish, inspect and mount the lenses according to the specifications of the Opticians, Optometrists or Opthalmologists.

Opthalmic technician performs a variety of duties related to making prescription for eye glasses and contact lenses.In general they grind, polish, measure, surface, finish, inspect and mount the lenses according to the specifications of the Opticians, Optometrists or Opthalmologists.

PHYSIO – THERAPY (DEG / PG)

The use of natural forces in the treatment of disease, with electro, hydro, aero and mechano – therapy massage and threapeutic exercises.

PSYCHIATRIC SOCIAL WORK (DIP)

Social workers help in counselling patients who suffer from psychological problems.

PSYCHIATRY (PG)

The recognition and treatment of diseases of emotions and the mind.

PSYCHOLOGICAL MEDICINE (DIP / PG)

The study of cause and treatment of psychological diseases, including the healing arts dealing with those diseases.

PUBLIC HEALTH & SANITATION (DIP / PG)

The use of measure designated to promote health and prevent diseases, the development and establishments of conditions in the environment favorable to the health.

RADIO – DIAGNOSIS (DIP)

They perpare patients for radio logical examinations.Radiation therapy may produce side effects such as nausea and vomiting.Hair loss and redness of skin can occur in treated areas.

RADIOGRAPHER (DIP)

He administers radiations on effected parts in order to cure the disease.He also maintains the equipment and prepares reports.

RADIOLOGY (MEDICAL) (DIP)

Radiological technologists work in a number of specalized fields in addition to taking diagnostic X-ray.For instance radiological technologists in the field of computerized topography use special x-ray to provide cross section to radiology.Its uses of radioactive equipment and defects of different bodily conditions by the heat emitted by the effected part of the body.

SANITARY INSPECTOR TRAINING (CER / DIP)

The training given to an officer to inspect sanitary conditions, a public health inspector.

SANITARY SCIENCE 

Its study of importance of sanitation.It also teaches various means of up-keeping sanitation.

E.E.G, AUDIOMETRY (DIP)

Electroencephalography is a procedure that measures the electrical activity of the brain.An instrument called Electroencephalograph records this activity and produces a written tracing of brains electrical impulses. Audiometry identifies and evaluates, speech and hearing defects and treats accordingly.

HEALTH STATISTICS (DIP)

Statistics pertaining to health which also includes statistics of sick people.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (DIP / CER)

Laboratory technician is one who helps in laboratory and conducts routine tests.He takes care of equipment and paraphernalia.They are employed in Film, Chemical, Physical and medical laboratories.

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANS (DIP)

Medical laboratory technicians are mid-level laboratory workers who under the supervision of a medical technologist or laboratory supervisor.They perform a wide range of routine tests and laboratory procedures.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY (DIP / CER / DEG / PGDIP)

Medical technologists perform complicated chemical, biological, haematological, immunologic, microscopic and bacteriological tests.These may include chemical tests to determine blood glucose or cholesteorol levels.

One who assist a Radiologist who is skilled in diagnostic and theraupetic use of X-rays and other forms of radiant energy.

SANITARY INSPECTOR TRAINING (CER / DIP)

They ensure that food, water and air meet the government standards.In addition they control pollution.

SANITARY SCIENCE (DIP)

Study pertaining to conditions effecting health, especially with reference to cleanliness and protection against infection.Also includes sanitation.

SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS TECHNOLOGY (DIP)

Paramedical Technology pertaining to instruments used in Sugery.

VETERINARY COMPOUNDERS (CER / DIP)

They are guided by Paramedical Veterinary Surgeons, in the treatment of animals, both pets, domestics and others.They personally handle the animals while treating them for various ailments, fractures etc.
